Sisters in Crime is an international organization of readers and writers whose mission is to promote the professional development and advancement of women crime writers.
The organization was founded in 1986 by Sara Paretsky and other women mystery writers and enthusiasts and has now grown to over 50 chapters around the world.

Membership
Membership is available to all who have an interest in crime, mystery and suspense works. We welcome writers, readers, fans, librarians, booksellers, publishing professionals, reviewers, and all others who love the genre.
Meetings
We meet the third Saturday of every month from 3:00 - 5:00 PM at Smokey Row Coffeehouse at 1910 Cottage Grove in Des Moines, Iowa. (Please note there will be no September 2011 meeting.)
